The film’s protagonist Jeanne du Barry (Maïwenn) has never had a simple or peaceful life, as she is a working-class youth in the France of courtiers and wealth. But this will not stop Jeanne, who will use her charms and her enormous intelligence to gradually climb the scale of the society of the moment. For this reason, she will end up becoming the favorite courtesan of King Louis XV, who does not know who she is, but who enjoys her company very much.
