Renee is a young woman who has a low self-esteem and is unstable because of her physical appearance. In a basement in the Chinese Quarter she manages a website for a cosmetics firm and hopes she will be able to get her office on Fifth Avenue. When a place is finally released there, she decides not to apply because the requirements state “a beautiful face”.
