The now King Akeem (Eddie Murphy) discovers that he has a son long lost in the United States. Therefore, he returns to New York to find him, and name him heir to the Throne of Zamunda. Of course, New York has changed a lot since the last time Akeem was there, and the monarch will have to face these changes to the best of his ability.
This movie is the sequel to the comedy The Prince of Zamunda (1988) directed by John Landis.
