Director Angel Manuel Soto directs Blue Beetle, the first DC Films and Warner Bros. superhero movie starring a Latino character. The script is the work of the Mexican writer Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer, (who has in his credits the new ‘remake’ of Universal’s Scarface and Miss Bala). In the panels, Blue Beetle is a superhero alter ego used by three different people, but the film will focus on Mexican-American teenager Jaime Reyes, the third character to take up the mantle of the character.
