The plot revolves around a curmudgeonly widower who revels in loneliness and bitterness, despite the fact that his suicide attempts have always been thwarted for various reasons. But his life will take an unexpected turn when a couple with two daughters arrives in the neighborhood who will make him see life in a different way as a touching relationship develops between them.
