Joe’s 14-year-old teenager is Jerry’s and Jeanette’s only child. Jerry is a professional golf player while Jeanette is a resident and lives together in a small town in Montana in the 1960s. In the vicinity, a forest fire that has escaped from control is in full swing at the border between America and Canada, and when Jerry loses both his job and his goal in life, he decides to join those who struggle to stop the fire, letting his child and his wife deal on their own. Joe sees how his mother strives to get the necessary for daily living and observes the gradual destruction of his parents’ marriage.
