Based on the book of the same name, “The Meanest Man in Texas” tells the story of Clyde Thompson’s life. In 1928, young Clyde is in the wrong place at the wrong time: he starts a fight and has to shoot two men to defend himself. Shortly after he was accused of murder and sentenced to death, but only hours before his execution, the government decides to change his life imprisonment sentence. He’s moved to another facility and after many attempts to escape, and two more crimes are locked in solitude. Remaining without hope, convicted three times in prison for life, Clyde finally regrets, and his life takes a whole new turn. Besides, he falls in love with Julia Perryman, who is also a prisoner of his own handicap.
