France, 1425. In the middle of the one hundred year war, young Jeannette, at the age of eight, deals with sheep in the small village of Domremy. One day she tells her friend Hauviette how she can not bear to see the suffering caused by the English. Jeannette is not Jeanne d’Arc yet, but at 8, she already wants to remove the English from the kingdom of France. Mrs. Gervaise, a nun, tries to convince this young woman to accept the situation, but Jeannette is ready to take over arms to save souls and release the Kingdom of France. Led by her strong belief, she will become the emblem of Jeanne d’Arc. Inspired by the mystery of Jones d’Arc’s destiny and charity, Bruno Dumont’s film revisits the early years of a future saint in the form of a musical film.
